A weak front slowly moves north over the South Island today, many places are settled with light winds in general. The only places to get any moisture out of the front will mainly be the lower South Island and about inland Canterbury.
Northland
Mostly sunny with light winds at first, afternoon sea breezes.
Sunny spells with light southwesterlies in the morning, winds picking up a little in the afternoon however remaining at a moderate speed.

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with light winds at first, afternoon westerly breezes.
Highs: 21-24
Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with some morning high cloud, light winds tend easterly in the
afternoon.
High: 24
Western North Island
Sunny spells with light northwesterlies in the morning, tending westerly in
the afternoon. Westerlies persist for much of the day about Taranaki, skies
fairly cloudy there with the odd sunny break at times.
Light winds in the morning with sunny areas and some cloud, winds change
southerly in the afternoon. Cloud levels remaining much the same after the
southerly moves through, periods of cloud and sunny spells.
Mostly sunny with any early cloud clearing, light winds at first then
afternoon northerly breezes.
Sunny spells and some cloud with light winds tending southeast in the
afternoon.
Southerlies bring mostly cloudy skies to start however a few sunny spells
break through in the afternoon near the coast, the odd drizzle patch about the
foothills.
Cloudy periods with light west to southwesterly winds, morning showers
about Fiordland and South Westland clear.

Chance of an early shower, cloudy periods otherwise with breezy
southwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-18
Central Otago
Chance of an early shower then clearing, sunny spells develop into the
afternoon. Southwesterly winds.
Cloudy in the morning with the chance of a shower, a few sunny spells break
through in the afternoon. Brisk west to southwest winds.
High: 16
