Saturday is the pick of the weekend

The far north and east may see one or 2 brief showers today and the far southwest will probably see a little drizzly rain later but everywhere else in between looks relatively dry and quite mild.

Maximum temperatures across most of the country will be in the low 20s with only just a handful of centres staying just below the 20 degree mark.

Once again overnight lows were quite pleasant although some inland fog did give thermometers that autumnal feel overnight.

Tomorrow there is a bit of a change is expected with some significant rain for the far north and a cold change is likely to hit the deep south late in the day, with the mercury expected to take a dive along with rather wet conditions as well.

By Monday, that southerly should work its way up the country bringing clearing skies to the west but cold and damp conditions to the east.
