The current situation over New Zealand has high pressure at either end of the country and weakening front moving north through central New Zealand, the front really runs out of steam about the lower North Island tonight.
Auckland will have the most settled evening out of the three main centres tonight. Expect areas of cloud and a few clears spells, west to southwest winds ease later this evening. Conditions are forecast to be dry with a low overnight of 13 degrees.
Wellington will have mainly cloudy skies with brisk to strong northerlies this evening, the odd spot of rain is possible too. Winds will ease a little overnight and at this point there is a greater chance of some rain for a time. A low of 14 degrees so fairly mild.
After what has been a warm day Christchurch cools down this evening with southerlies and some cloud, there may be a shower or two also with this southerly. Cloud hangs around overnight. A low of 11.
The main sporting focus will be on the Tua Vs Ustinov fight in Hamilton later this evening, but this is indoors so no need to worry about the weather. Either way it’s looking like there will be cloudy spells in Hamilton tonight with westerlies easing later in the evening. The low for Hamilton overnight is 13, perhaps 12 degrees. Here’s looking forward to a good night.
