WeatherWatch.co.nz reader Claire Wilkins has sent us a video she took of some intense lightning on Australia’s Sunshine Coast back in 2008.
The footage shows some fantastic lightning shots over Brisbane, as seen from Maroochydore.

The second one is incredible! The storms in late January this year around the central north island may have approached that kind of calibre? I remember watching one (from Tairua) that was over Hamilton and thinking it looked like a strobe light. Lightning every few seconds! Hopefully we’ll get some repeat performances this summer…
