RainWatch – Westerlies bring the odd shower then some rain out west

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A southwesterly airflow over New Zealand today brings the odd shower to some western spots and the far south, dry conditions in the east.

The flow tends to the west or northwest on Saturday. Expect a few showers in the west then by evening rain moves into South Westland, pushing into North Westland overnight. Warm temperatures for eastern regions.

On Sunday a southerly change pushes up the South Island’s east coast bringing some rain, moving onto the North Island’s east coast on Monday. Conditions by Tuesday morning are dry for most of New Zealand apart from a few showers about Bay Of Plenty and Southland.
