Rainwatch – Wednesday 9th January 2019

A ridge lies over the North Island today meanwhile northwesterlies build further south, a front pushes onto the lower South Island this evening.

North Island
Eastern Bay Of Plenty and East Cape may see a light shower or two at times today otherwise mainly dry for most of the North Island.

South Island
Rain moves into South Westland this afternoon becoming heavy about Fiordland. Showers move into North Westland during the evening. Southland sees a few spots of rain late afternoon / evening then around midnight a southwest change moves through bringing a few further showers.

Perhaps there is the outside risk of a few spots of rain for Canterbury in the evening otherwise mainly dry.
