A west to northwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, mainly settled although the West Coast of the South Island sees some rain.

North Island
Mainly dry across most of the North Island today, perhaps the risk of a shower this morning about the lower western North Island (Taranaki through to Kapiti) then clearing. Risk of an isolated shower also about the ranges of Hawkes Bay, Gisborne and eastern Bay Of Plenty late afternoon / evening otherwise mainly dry.

South Island
Showers along the West Coast, some rain for South Westland eases mid afternoon onwards. Southland sees a shower or spot or two of rain from afternoon.
