Expect the odd shower at times for the western North Island today especially Taranaki northwards. Mostly cloudy about eastern Wellington and Wairarapa with a few showers, a shower or two may spread into Hawkes Bay and Gisborne this evening otherwise staying mainly dry.

Some drizzle or the risk of a shower developing this evening about Nelson / Marlborough, there may even be some rain overnight. There may be an isolated shower or two by evening about the Southern Alps, mainly dry otherwise for the West Coast with any early showers Greymouth northwards having cleared away.

Showers about coastal Canterbury clearing this afternoon. Inland Canterbury may see a light shower late afternoon / evening about the ranges. Mostly cloudy about Southland and Otago with showers, easing during the day and dry spells developing this afternoon. Conditions mostly dry by evening about the far south but there may be the odd lingering shower about.
