A westerly airflow lies over New Zealand today with a dying front over the North Island.

RainWatch is a series during the weekdays, giving a snapshot about where around New Zealand areas of precipitation may affect your day.

The odd light shower or drizzle patch possible from afternoon about Auckland. The Waikato sees the odd light shower or drizzle patch at times today, clearing this evening. Morning cloud may bring a shower about the Bay Of Plenty.

Patchy showers about the lower North Island in the west clear by midday.

Any early showers clear along the West Coast of the South Island then some rain moves in overnight for North Westland.

Chance of a light drizzle patch about coastal Otago this afternoon otherwise mainly dry.
