A west to northwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, moving around a large high situated in the Tasman Sea.

North Island
Chance of a shower early afternoon for Auckland then clearing. There may be a shower or two this morning for the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty, the higher risk is for Waikato especially out west then clearing this afternoon.

Risk of a shower or two this morning about the lower western North Island (Taranaki through to Kapiti) then clearing this afternoon.

South Island
Showers for the West Coast today, dry spells at times from afternoon. Risk of a shower mid to late morning for Otago then clearing afternoon. Showers for Southland this morning then dry spells increasing from afternoon.
