Rainwatch – Sunday 23rd December 2018

A low in the Tasman Sea stretches out over the North Island today bringing in some rain or showers to the far north and for parts of the east coast. A ridge further south brings mainly settled weather, it will be quite cloudy in the east though.

The Waikato northwards sees the risk of a shower this morning then clearing. Northern Northland has some rain from this morning, it spreads southwards to reach Auckland in the evening then overnight moving into Waikato and Bay Of Plenty. Rain may be heavy at times.

A shower or two peppers Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa today, especially this morning.

Southern Marlborough down through to southern Canterbury sees a few showers this morning then drying out this afternoon. The rest of the country is looking mainly dry.
