RainWatch – Some rain moves in for the North Island

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A cold front pushes over the North Island tomorrow and with it comes some rain as can be seen in the map below. It’s not really till later on Saturday does some rain make it into Auckland and then finally Northland on Sunday. The South Island sees morning showers clear the far south, a few showers from midday Banks Peninsula northwards in the east.

This weekend most of the South Island is actually quite dry, the map below shows today and tomorrows precipitation. For the North Island there is not much different to the map above however you can see rain does make its way into Auckland more on Saturday, it’s not drought breaking rain but anything is welcome. Northland (especially in the east) doesn’t really see much in the way of rain till Sunday afternoon.
