RainWatch – Rain moves in for the SI’s West Coast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

An increasing northwesterly airflow brings rain to the western side of the South Island tomorrow, this rain is heavy at times from afternoon. A cold front moves into Southland during the evening bringing rain, pushing into Otago overnight. The North Island has a mainly dry day but there may be an isolated light shower or two in the west at times, this risk increases in the evening from Taranaki through to Kapiti.

Thursday evenings cold front moves northwards overnight, it doesn’t deliver much in the way of precipitation for the eastern South Island although North Canterbury through to Nelson may see a few showers. Its when the front arrives at the lower North Island on Friday afternoon will there be some rain, nothing over the top but some rain none the less. More information regarding the next 5 days precipitation in the map below.
