RainWatch – Front brings wet weather to the South Island, heavy in the west

A front moves northwards over the South Island today bringing areas of rain or showers, heavy in the west. Rain may be persistent this morning about Otago before easing. Showers not arriving about Marlborough till evening then moving into the lower North Island later this evening / overnight.

Wet weather will clear from the south of the South Island during the day.

The aforementioned front slows down about central parts of the country on Tuesday, this may bring some heavy rain to the lower North Island as shown in the red shaded areas below. Only the odd shower or drizzle patch outside of the red / yellow shaded areas.

Looking dry for the South Island on Wednesday, showers or some rain south of about Waikato and north of Palmerston North in the North Island.
