An anticyclone sits in the Tasman Sea today directing a west to southwesterly airflow over New Zealand.

North Island
Risk of a shower this morning about Auckland through to Waikato otherwise mainly dry. A shower or two may move into the Wairarapa late morning then clearing late afternoon. Wellington has the outside chance of a shower this morning also.

South Island
Showers for Southland may spread into Otago at times midday onwards, central Otago is mainly dry though.
