A weak but large high sits in the Tasman Sea today meanwhile a weak area of low pressure lies over New Zealand. Conditions are mainly dry across both Islands but there may be a light shower or two about for some.

North Island

Chance of a shower today for Northland through to the Waikato, mainly afternoon, fairly dry conditions overall otherwise. Just Taranaki has the risk of a shower at times also.

South Island

Risk of a light shower or two for the West Coast this morning. Canterbury sees a shower or two possible at times also, drying out near the coastal fringe in the afternoon. Southland and Otago may see a shower or two, drying out in the afternoon about Central Otago and Southland. Marlborough may see a shower or two from afternoon, a low chance about Nelson from afternoon also mainly in the ranges to the east.
