RainWatch: Forecast rainfall up until 1am Wednesday

A weak area of low pressure forms over the inner South Island today meanwhile a low pressure system to the east directs a southerly airflow over the North Island.

North Island

A light shower or two this morning for western Northland then clearing. Isolated showers possible late afternoon / evening about Waikato, inland Bay Of Plenty and the Central North Island then clearing tonight. Showers along the east coast (Gisborne to Wairarapa) ease this afternoon with increasing dry spells. And finally there may be a light shower this morning for Wellington then clearing away.

South Island

The South Island is mainly dry however expect the odd light shower for Otago (more so about the coast this morning) then some rain possible later in the day.
