Morning rain may be heavy for western regions on Saturday (obviously heaviest for the South Islands West Coast as indicated below), expect a few thunderstorms too then easing to showers by midday for most. The front associated with this rain brings scattered falls to the South Island’s east coast during the morning also then clearing away.
The westerly pattern continues on Sunday, showers or rain in the west with mainly dry conditions out east. Thunderstorms are possible for South Westland.
