Mainly dry across the North Island today although there may be a drizzle patch this morning about the Bay Of Plenty.

Onto the South Island – A front moves northwards during the day, for the West Coast expect showers then rain as this front moves northwards. Rain about Southland and Otago eases to showers this afternoon and evening respectively then gradually clearing. Canterbury sees showers move in during this afternoon then turning to rain in the evening with a southwest change. And yes parts of North Canterbury should see some rain but it may not be till later this evening or overnight.
