RainWatch for Friday and Saturday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Areas of rain for western regions on Friday, possibly heavy in some spots. There could be a few thunderstorms for the western North Island from evening. Once again mainly dry in the east apart from perhaps the odd spit spreading from the west, especially Wairarapa. Southland and Otago will likely see some shower activity though.

24 hour accumulated rainfall forecast from 6am Friday till 6am Saturday

Morning rain may be heavy for western regions on Saturday (obviously heaviest for the South Islands West Coast as indicated below), expect a few thunderstorms too then easing to showers by midday for most. The front associated with this rain brings scattered falls to the South Island’s east coast during the morning also then clearing away.

24 hour accumulated rainfall forecast from 6am Saturday till 6am Sunday
