Friday is quite dry around most of New Zealand, a few morning showers clear the North Island although East Cape sees showers linger till afternoon. For the West Coast of the South Island (South Westland more specifically), the majority of the rain shown in the map below doesn’t arrive till overnight.
The 3 day outlook below continues the trend of rain / showers in the west and mainly dry weather out east. The North Island is actually quire dry this weekend, only a shower or two in the west. The map below is incorporating some rain / shower activity from today. Southland sees some rain then showers this Saturday as a front pushes through, Otago may only see a few brief showers now from this front.
