Here’s a snapshot at where the highest accumulations of rainfall are going to be through to Wednesday next week.
A system moving in from the Tasman Sea this afternoon / evening starting along the West Coast brings some very heavy rain, rain spreads to other western regions on Friday and the eastern South Island as a southwest change moves northwards. Saturday morning is the last of any heavy showers for the North Island then conditions back off.
Another front is lining up the country on Monday before pushing northwards with more heavy rain on the way for the West Coast, some reasonable rain in the far south and up the east coast also. As the front reaches the North Island on Tuesday it looks to weaken but rain is still looking likely especially the lower half and in the east but if moves through fairly promptly.
Due to a family tragedy, our weather videos won’t return until Thursday, March 23rd. We apologise for the inconvenience – and we thank you so much for all the lovely messages of support. Our normal schedule will return properly in April.– WeatherWatch.co.nz
