Rain, wind and hail in parts – #WeatherRisks on Monday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

There’s a fair bit of weather around the place through Monday, and though nothing’s looking too serious, there’s plenty to talk about.

The West Coast of the South Island is wet again, with heavy rain at times through both North and South Westland during the day, persisting until evening.

Northwesterly winds through the Cook Strait are likely to be strong, possibly even gusting to gale at times for much of the day.
Wellington city may just see gusty northwest winds, growing stronger further south.
In the evening, winds change southwest about Southland – bringing showers (heavy at times) with a chance of hail.
Those showers then spread through Otago later in the evening and overnight.
