POLL RESULTS: Too hot to sleep for 3/4 kiwis

> From the WeatherWatch archives

We have had some cold weather to begin the new month, but the general trend of 2015 so far has been one of sweltering summer heat.

We received a lot of correspondence related to sleeping conditions in some parts of the country: namely, that it’s been too hot to get a proper night’s rest!

So in our latest poll, we asked the question: “How are you sleeping this summer?”, and it’s fair to say the results were unequivocal.

45% of respondents said they are getting terrible rest overnight dur to the heat, while a further 31% said they’re using fans or air conditioning to make the nights bearable.

20% of voters – the happy few – said that temperatures in general have been perfect at night – either in places where the summer heat has been a bit milder, or in houses with better insulation!

Don’t forget to check back tomorrow morning for our new poll!
