POLL RESULTS: The week before the storm…

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Well, last week’s poll was all about the first week of a new season – and the results take on something of a different light when viewed at the end of a horror-filled last 5 days!

We of course saw the massive low pressure system deliver heavy rains, vicious winds and generally unpleasant conditions to most of the country over the second week of winter – but our poll was about the week previous.

In this light, the first week was positively mild! 40% of respondents said that Autumn was running through into the first week of winter, with a further 29% saying it was warm…!

Well, this week’s poll will probably be slightly different – it’s about the storm! Check it out on our polls page, it will be up on Sunday morning.

Had some big wind storms, 125 km/h SE and 117 km/h NE, rough as guts, but it is not the usual frigidly cold temperatures. The SE/NE has been unusually mild, so our nocturnal winds have meant only one frost, while north of here have had them. It has been literally years since we have had a mild SE.
