As we approach the holiday season, more and more roadside pine tree sales have been cropping up around the country – but according to our latest poll, sales may be down this year.
We asked our readers about their Christmas tree preferences – real, fake or not at all – and it seems as though the days of real pine needles and the smell of sap on Christmas morning are numbered.
Just over a third of respondents said they still buy or grow real Christmas trees – while nearly half of voters now opt for the easier, reusable fake alrernative.
So this Christmas, keep an eye out for the real trees in your neighbourhood – because they may be something of a dying breed!
