Poll Results: International news very important to WeatherWatch readers

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Our latest poll is one of the most decisive this year – New Zealanders want international weather news.

As you know WeatherWatch.co.nz is New Zealand’s weather news authority however many other nations have weather that is far more extreme than ours. International news helps us put things into perspective and from a human-being point of view it shows we really are a country that cares about others.

In our latest poll a huge 81% said they want International weather and other natural disaster news from all over the world. Our focus at WeatherWatch.co.nz is mainly on Pacific Rim nations, but we cover Europe, Africa and other parts of the world from time to time in extreme circumstances.

19% voted “no” to international news. While we of course love having you on our website for NZ news and local forecasts you may be interested to know that New Zealanders tax payer fund and (bizarrely) now own THREE commercial New Zealand based weather forecasters: NIWA, MetService & now MetOcean. So you now have three New Zealand Government choices, on top of our free private services.

We hope to increase our local New Zealand content even further in 2018 too.

Thanks for voting!
