POLL RESULTS: Half of NZ happy with 2014’s weather

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It doesn’t get more even than this – our latest poll showed exactly half of New Zealanders are happy with 2014’s weather!

We asked our readers what they thought of the last 12 months in weather terms, though we weren’t sure what to expect – some of us here at WeatherWatch.co.nz thought we would have a majority unhappy with the last year’s weather, while others believed we have had a happy 2014.

Well, turns out that as a nation, we are pretty much split down the middle – though commenter Steve said:

I voted the 2nd option because the dry start to the year has been rectified by the second half balancing out with good rain…
December month to date has been 246 mils which has kept local farmers happy as this gives great boost going into the “drier” summer months.
From a rural point of view the weather seems to always balance out to give us a good average.

Let’s hope 2015 can keep us all happy and the poll looks a bit brighter, this time next year!
