POLL RESULTS: A third of New Zealand has seen frost this year

> From the WeatherWatch archives

After a pretty chilly week last week, inland spots in both islands saw temperatures heading down towards frost territory, which was quite out of keeping with the trends we’ve seen overall this year.

Lawns, driveways and fields in places have been dusted with white in the early hours of the day – so we wanted to know what percentage of our readers have seen a frost this year.

The results were something of a surprise – though they may well reflect a population percentage rather than a land one – with more than half of voters saying they hadn’t seen a frost yet, and just under a third saying they had.

5% of our audience were honest enough to say they didn’t know, as they don’t get up that early, while 13% said that they’d had conditions close to frost levels, but maybe just not quite enough to push the numbers over.

Remember to keep an eye out for our next poll, coming tomorrow morning!
