Yes , autumn and the beginning of winter shaping up nicely. 6 Frosts here in Waimauku (NW Akl) already – far cry from last year where we had the warmest May and 3rd warmest June on record.Crisp and clear – killing all the unwanted bugs , and helping the fruit trees – hope it continues !The frost on Sun (17 Jun) was the best so far – looked like Ruapehu – beautiful!

Yes, the winter to date has been spot on here in the Wellsford area, lower Northland. For the rural folk any winter month with minimun mud is a good month. I personally don’t mind the frosts as it keeps a lot of unwelcome bugs under some control.
Feel for our fellow country folk in the southern regions as their tribulations with weather are much worse than us in the north.
