Several photos taken on Friday evening after a deluge caused by a severe thunderstorm flooded rivers and roads north west of Auckland around Kaipara.
All photos by Lawrence Hill – thank you Lawrence.
“Yes it certainly was some of the heaviest rain I’d seen out here [Hokianga]. Went for a drive just before sunset and the entire valley was awash with water. Meet up with a guy where the road was unpassable and he said he hadn’t seen anything like it out here in 10 years”.

Those photographs showing major flooding in Hokianga are unbelieveable – where in Hokianga were the photographs taken? it would be interesting to know..
Thank you Lawrence Hill for sending these into Weather Watch *thumbs up* – amazing pics.

He clearly said the flooding was in kaipara.
I live 20minutes away from kaipara.
