8am NZT:  Paloma was downgraded to a tropical storm early this morning. The interaction with Cuba and strong southwesterly shear over the system have caused the rapid weakening.

All warnings associated with Tropical Storm Paloma have been dropped.

Paloma is forecas to slowly move northward remaining over Cuba through this evening. That should continue the rapid weakening trend. Paloma may be a depression later today or tonight.

The remainder of the Atlantic Basin and the entire eastern Pacific Basin are quiet.
