I saw this video posted on the New Zealand Weather Forum, where I frequent, by Steven Williams. I thought it was quite an interesting clip and hadn’t seen it before, especially because it shows large hail falling on the West Coast of the South Island at Punakaiki on the 13th May 2011. Normally I’d expect large hail like this in say Canterbury.
Dare I say I’d love to be amongst that but taking shelter in my car of course, hail like that can be destructive for farmers though and can damage property.
A little bit of nostalgia while I wait for the sun to start coming out here in Christchurch, I’m sure it’s out there somewhere.
