Winds are on the rise over inland and western areas of the Mainland however temperatures are also on the up.
Christchurch is already 25 degrees and Auckland has inched up to 23 as a warm day beckons for both cities.
Invercargill is also in the low twenties as well as Nelson, Napier, Gisborne, Whakatane, Tauranga and Whangarei.
The low 30s are still a possiblilty in some eastern areas but heavy rain is more likely about the Alps and the West Coast of the South Island.
Warnings are still in place for the areas mentioned above and also windy conditions in central and eastern parts.
