Several lines of Thunderstorms are moving north over the North Island. Some of these thunderstorms may be Severe and produce wind gusts of 120km/h this morning and early afternoon. There is also the possibility that a few tornadoes may spawn from these thunderstorms, especially near the coast. Wind gusts of this strength can cause some structural damage, including trees and power lines, and may make driving hazardous. If any tornadoes occur, they will only affect very localised areas. – Metservice
