NEW POLL: Did you get the weather you wanted in 2014?

> From the WeatherWatch archives

As 2014 draws to a close, we wanted to take the time to assess how the year’s weather has been received around the country.

The weather you wanted can be defined in many many ways – some love storms, some love calm, some love winter frosts, while others hate them and wish it was summer all year round!
Weather can help hurt your plans – personal or business – and it can make or break a weekend or holiday.

I voted the 2nd option because the dry start to the year has been rectified by the second half balancing out with good rain. Total to date for the year here in south Waipu is 1599 mils. Our first full year here so dont know normal average. December month to date has been 246 mils which has kept local farmers happy as this gives great boost going into the “drier” summer months. From a rural point of view the weather seems to always balance out to give us a good average. One thing we cant live without is rain but welcome the nice sunny weather as well.

Cheers Steve
