It’s certainly been wet over New Zealand the last 3 or so days, in fact the year to date has been fairly wet with many regions already hitting their yearly average rainfall and now climbing even higher.
It’s fair to say the results of this poll will indicate many are a bit tired of the rain and are looking forward to drier more settled weather but you never know who might like these conditions.
Noticeably in Canterbury rivers like the Selwyn are certainly up and have been flowing nicely under SH1 for a while now after what has been a mainly dry looking river bed for the last few years, it must be noted it is fairly common for this part of the Selwyn to duck underground at this point so the constant flow is a sign of plenty of water. This is one benefit of the rain we’ve had this winter and up till now, it has certainly re-charged Canterbury’s water situation.
So are you tired of the wet? Looking forward to some dry? Should the sun start to come out soon it should be a cracker of a spring for grass growth.

The survey should give another multi choice option of what area they live in, as we haven’t all had heaps of rain like some parts of NZ have had.

I guess you could just answer no then? I thought about what you were saying but when you narrow it down it just came down to two choices really. Although thinking about it a third choice “not concerned” or something like that may have been good. But your comments are good to hear and help voice your opinion, something I could include in a results story on Sunday.
Thanks for writing in.

It’s been very dry down here in the far south this year. Could do with a good wet-spell.
