We might be in what is traditionally the hottest, driest part of summer – but we’re now several weeks past the longest day.
Those in the lower South Island – who have extra long days in summer due t the shape of the earth, are the first to notice the swing back to longer nights.
There’s still a very long way to go until the shortest day of the year in June – but we’re now in that transition period where some are noticing the sun getting up a little later and setting a little earlier.
