This winter is shaping up to be colder than the warmer than average winters of recent years thanks in part to lower air pressure around our part of the globe which is encouraging more southerlies and Southern Ocean air flows.
We still have warmer winds in the forecast too but the southerly injections from time to time should help keep more of a lid on temperatures.
When it comes to winter are you a fan of a cold one, or have you enjoyed the recent warmer than average ones we’ve been having? Some people don’t even like to wonder, simply enjoying whatever Mother Nature serves up each week.

I would love a colder winter with lots of snow in Stratford this time please, not just on the mountain!

I had a laugh reading your comment, Sharalee :-D. I’m hoping for some snow in Hawera this winter! You are more likely to get your wish before us, if we get it at all!
Fingers crossed that it does snow this winter. Let us know when it starts falling. It is so beautiful when it is falling.
