National Fieldays kicks off despite poor weather, forecast looks better!

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The foul weather won’t stop the expected 30,000 people to rush through the gates at Mystery Creek today for the opening of the 46th National Annual Fieldays.

It’s the biggest agricultural event in the Southern Hemisphere.

Fieldays CEO Jon Calder says the 900 exhibitors will be flush with interest, as the numbers will get bigger as the event goes on despite the weather.

“Across the four days of Fieldays, you have somewhere between 125,000-130,000, all going well.

“The weather looks like it’s going to dry out late Thursday, so Friday and Saturday should be nice and fine.”
