Mainly settled over the North Island today under a ridge of high pressure, an easterly airflow over Northland may bring a shower or two however. Chance of a shower about a few inland areas too late afternoon / evening. The South Island has mainly settled conditions too, some high cloud for the lower half of the Island. Nelson and Marlborough could see an isolated shower late afternoon / evening about the ranges.

Mostly cloudy skies with easterly winds, showers this morning, ease/dry up this afternoon.
Highs: 20-22

Auckland

Plenty of high cloud with a few sunny areas possible this afternoon, east to northeast winds.
High: 22

Bay Of Plenty

Morning cloud breaking to sunny spells, east to northeasterly winds.
High: 21

Waikato

Any morning cloud breaking to sunny areas and high cloud, light east to northeast winds.
High: 23

Central North Island

Chance of an early light shower, cloud then breaks to sunny spells in the afternoon. Late afternoon / evening isolated showers are possible especially about southwestern parts of the region then clearing later.
Highs: 23-24

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with east to northeasterly winds, picking up a little this afternoon near the coast.
Highs: 22-23

Western North Island

Any morning cloud breaks away then mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon sea breezes near coastal areas. There could be an isolated shower or two late afternoon / evening about some inland areas, possibly heavy.
Highs: 22-26

Wellington

Periods of cloud and sunny breaks at times, north to northwesterly winds.
High: 20

Nelson

Mostly sunny, afternoon northerly winds. Isolated showers possible late afternoon / evening mainly inland about the ranges, possibly heavy.
Highs: 22-25

Marlborough

Mostly sunny weather, light winds this morning then afternoon northeasterlies. Chance of a late afternoon / evening isolated shower about the ranges, possibly heavy.
Highs: 26-27

Canterbury

Mostly cloud this morning with southerlies then sunny spells develop in the afternoon with east to northeast winds especially near the coast. Some high cloud too mainly Banks Peninsula southwards.
Highs: 24-25

West Coast

Sunny spells with light west to northwest winds, skies may be mostly cloudy about Fiordland. Warm temperatures for some inland areas mainly Buller.
Highs: 20-25

Coastal Otago

Periods of cloud with light southerlies tending easterly this afternoon.
Highs: 20-22

Central Otago

Sunny areas with some high cloud, light winds.
Highs: 25-28

Southland

Morning cloud breaks to sunny areas in the afternoon, light winds.
Highs: 23-25
