The eastern Bay of Plenty is again in the firing line for more heavy rain as yet another low pressure system moves in from the Tasman Sea.
Heavy rain is likely to move in from the north west, building up against the eastern ranges later on Wednesday and into Thursday reports WeatherWatch.co.nz.
The angle of the rain, on top of recent heavy rains, puts the region at an elevated risk from slips and flooding.
MetService says there is a “moderate chance” of rain reaching warning criteria on Wednesday and Thursday in the area.
They say there is also a low chance of heavy rain in eastern Northland, eastern Coromandel Peninsula, western Bay of Plenty, Central Plateau and the Whanganui headwaters on Wednesday.
Heavy rain is also expected across Wednesday and Thursday along the West Coast.
