The antarctic snap which has brought snow and icy cold conditions to many places through the day is moving across the country, meaning cold conditions will stick around in the short term.

While there’s no seriously heavy snowfall associated with the system, it is bringing snow to low levels in places – and will continue to do so into Wednesday too.
