Snow and rain both ease today across New Zealand with the week ahead looking much drier for both islands – in saying that, it will also be much colder.
A southerly change moving north over Monday and Tuesday will bring widespread South Island frosts, potentially below -10 through the interior.
The North Island will also be colder, but winds may keep frosts away from many in the next day or two.
Rain returns this weekend to the west and south of both islands.
