An anticyclone covers most of New Zealand on Monday.
North Island
Mostly sunny weather for the upper North Island on Monday, expect some high cloud and winds from the southwest. The Bay Of Plenty and eastern Northland sees a sea breeze in the afternoon however. Expect mostly sunny weather for the rest of the North Island with westerly winds in the west, afternoon ease to northeast breezes along the east coast. Kapiti may see some cloud at times.
South Island
Mostly sunny for the West Coast, becoming cloudy in the morning about Fiordland and the odd light shower moving in then this cloud thickens up further north later in the evening or overnight. Rain sets in for Fiordland during the evening. Mainly sunny from Nelson down through to Otago in the evening, west to northwesterly winds inland and north to northeast breezes for coastal areas. In the evening cloud starts to thicken up about Southland with the odd spot of rain.
Highs
Temperatures in the mid to late twenties for most of New Zealand tomorrow, the highest highs will be in the east. For the West Coast south of Greymouth temperatures will be in the late teens.
