Monday’s national forecast – Mainly settled

High pressure brings mainly settled weather today, a weak front lies across the far south bringing showers to South Westland.

North Island

Mostly sunny with mist or fog morning and night, light winds then afternoon sea breezes. There may be a touch of high cloud.

South Island

Cloudy areas south of about Hokitika with a few showers, winds from the northeast. Further north along the West Coast expect mostly sunny weather with some high cloud, westerly quarter winds. Expect mostly sunny weather for the rest of the South Island today, perhaps a touch of high cloud and there may be some mid level cloud this afternoon for Southland and Otago. Afternoon east to northeast winds along the eastern coastline, northerlies otherwise.
