Monday’s national forecast – Front pushes over from the west

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A front passes over New Zealand today moving in a west to east fashion, wet weather in the west, drier in the east although a few spits are possible.

North Island

Cloudy in the west with showers, turning to rain in some spots by midday (Taranaki for example), rain becomes a little more widespread this afternoon. The east coast may see a few spots of rain spread from the west from afternoon. Northerly winds.

South Island

Rain for the West Coast, Nelson and Marlborough, perhaps the odd heavy fall then easing to showers this afternoon as blustery northeasterlies change to the north and ease. Showers clear Nelson and Marlborough this evening. Some morning cloud in the east breaks away to mostly sunny weather with northerly winds, warm afternoon temperatures. There may be a few spits for Southland and Otago.
