Fairly settled over the country today under an easing west to southwest airflow. Most places see some sun, temperatures not overally warm though as we are still under a fairly cool airmass. The odd shower possible about Southland and the West Coast this morning then clearing. For the North Island the odd shower is about out west, mainly south of Taranaki this morning. Eastern ranges north of Hawkes Bay could see showers this afternoon also.
Auckland & Northland
Sunny with some cloud, west to southwest breezes. There may be a brief shower at times in western areas otherwise expect mainly dry conditions.
Highs: 17-19
Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Sunny with some cloud, westerly breezes. Chance of a morning shower about the Waikato. There may also be an isolated late afternoon shower about eastern Bay Of Plenty then clearing in the evening.
Highs: 16-20
Eastern North Island
Sunny in the morning with westerly winds. Afternoon southerlies develop bringing some cloud and the chance of a shower about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne, especially about the ranges.
Highs: 16-18
Western North Island
Morning showers clearing south of Taranaki then afternoon sunny spells, westerly winds ease in the evening. For northern Taranaki expect sunny spells and some cloud during the day, west to southwest breezes and the chance of a brief shower now and then otherwise mainly dry.

Wellington
Some cloud with southerly breezes developing this morning then easing during the afternoon, conditions become mostly sunny after midday. Northerly winds by evening.

Nelson
Sunny with light southwesterlies in the morning, afternoon northerly breezes.
High: 15
Marlborough
Mainly sunny with light winds, afternoon easterly breezes.
Highs: 14-16
Canterbury
Mostly sunny with southwesterly winds easing, northeasterlies freshen in the afternoon especially along the coast. Light winds for some inland areas afternoon onwards with slightly warmer temperatures then near the coast.

West Coast
Risk of an early shower then expect sunny spells with southwest breezes dying out in the evening.
High: 13
Coastal Otago
Chance of an early showers then becoming mostly sunny, brisk westerlies ease. A chance winds may swing round to the northeast in the afternoon.

Central Otago
Sunny with light westerly breezes.
Highs: 12-13
Southland
A few early morning showers clear then expect sunny spells and some cloud with westerly winds.
High: 13
