A ridge of high pressure lies over New Zealand today bringing mainly settled conditions, meanwhile a front pushes towards the west of the country in the Tasman Sea.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Fog or low cloud then cloud may break to sunny spells this afternoon, chance of a shower or two. Light south to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any morning showers clear, cloud may break to a few sunny spells this afternoon. Light south to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Eastern North Island
Showers, gradually easing and clearing in the evening. Light southerlies.
Highs: 15-16

Wellington
Any morning drizzle clears, cloud may break to a few sunny spells from afternoon. Light southerlies tend northerly.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson
A mainly sunny day with light winds.
Highs: 15-16

Canterbury
Mainly sunny with east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-13

West Coast
Cloudy areas, risk of a light shower or two. Light northeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with a touch of high cloud, light north to northeasterly winds.
