An anticyclone brings mainly settled weather over New Zealand, a fair amount of cloud for the western North Island however.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy, risk of a light shower or two. The Bay Of Plenty is sunnier. Light west to southwesterly winds.

Highs: 16-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Fairly cloudy this morning, risk of a light shower. Some sun may break through at times this afternoon. Light winds tend westerly.

Highs: 13-16

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, the Wairarapa sees cloudier skies. Light winds.

Highs: 16-17

Wellington

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, light winds.

High: 14-15

Marlborough & Nelson

Mainly sunny, late evening high cloud. Light winds.

Highs: 15-16

Canterbury

Mainly sunny, late evening high cloud. Light winds.

High: 14

West Coast

Mostly sunny with light winds, evening high cloud.

Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, a few evening showers for Southland. West to northwesterly winds.

Highs: 13-15
